INVITATION

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the Fourth Congress of Otology and Neurotology in the Black Sea Region, which will be held in Trabzon—a true emblem of the Black Sea—from June 10 to 12, 2027. Hosting you in this distinguished city, where I was born and raised, is a profound personal privilege.

Trabzon is a city of remarkable heritage. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Pontus and an important center of the Eastern Roman Empire, it continued to flourish even after it came under Ottoman rule in 1461. In the Ottoman era, Trabzon became known as a place where future sultans gained their early administrative experience. Sultan Selim I, one of the most esteemed rulers of the empire, served as governor here, and his son, Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent, was born in this very city. Beyond its historical depth, Trabzon and its region have produced many influential political leaders, athletes, and scholars—among them presidents and ministers who have served, and continue to serve, the Republic of Türkiye. The city is also home to Trabzonspor, one of Türkiyemost prominent and respected football clubs.

Its achievements and passionate fan culture shape an important part of the city’s identity.

Travel to Trabzon is exceptionally convenient. Trabzon Airport, located within the city, accommodates more than 140 flights per day, including many direct international connections during the summer—offering easy access for our participants from abroad.

We anticipate that our congress, organized in collaboration with the Black Sea countries, will attract a diverse international audience from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. The scientific program will cover a wide array of topics, including otology, neurotology, cochlear implantation, implantable hearing devices, hearing loss and rehabilitation, vestibular disorders, and auditory genetics. In addition to the scientific sessions, the congress will offer a rich social program, providing opportunities to explore the region’s historical, cultural, and natural attractions. Our professional organizing team will be pleased to assist you with travel arrangements, transfers, and accommodations. I warmly invite you to join us in Trabzon—the Pearl of the Black Sea—for an inspiring and memorable scientific gathering from June 11 to 13, 2027.
